Job Overview

- Provide compassionate, respectful palliative care for an older adult in a home setting, supporting comfort, dignity, and quality of life.
- Assist with daily routines and personal care while following the care plan and communicating changes or concerns to the appropriate family member or care qualified.
- This is a paid caregiving position. Specific schedule and employment details will be discussed with qualified applicants.

Duties

- Provide attentive patient care and senior palliative care, including support with bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and other activities of daily living.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, using patience and sensitivity when working with an elder experiencing illness or changes in ability.
- Assist with eating as needed, following dietary instructions.
- Support medication routines only as authorized and within the caregiver’s training and applicable requirements; document or report concerns as directed.
- Assist with safe movement and transfers. The role will involve equipment - Hoyer lift, wheel chair
- Keep the living area tidy and sanitary, including light tasks related to the client’s care.
- Observe and promptly report changes in comfort, mood, mobility, appetite, or overall condition to family members.
- Respect privacy, personal preferences, and the client’s routines.

Experience

- Prior caregiving, home care, or senior palliative care experience is preferred.
- Experience in assisted living, a nursing home, or hospice care is an asset.
- Familiarity with and experience working with individuals with disabilities are valued.
- Background in nursing or other patient-care settings is helpful especially PSW certification
- Experience with light cleaning, mobility assistance, and medication routines is beneficial.
- Applicants should be dependable, compassionate, attentive to detail, and able to communicate respectfully with the client and family.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 6.0 per week
