Vanguard Air Care is currently accepting applications from loyal, dedicated, experienced Registered Nurse with the energy and a positive attitude to join our aero-medical transport team of dedicated, caring health care providers.

Vanguard Air Care Headquarters is located in Winnipeg, Manitoba and operates out of (4) air ambulance bases strategically located in Manitoba: (Winnipeg, Island Lake, Norway House and Thompson)

Education and Experience Requirements:

The applicant must have successfully graduated from a recognized Registered Nursing program. The applicant must also have successfully completed a critical care nursing and or an emergency nursing course or verification of at least 2 years of related nursing experience and the following:

- Valid registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba with no restrictions.
- Current Basic Life Support
- Current Advance Cardiac Life Support
- Current Pediatric Advance Life Support
- Current International Trauma Life Support / Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support or Trauma Nursing Core Course
- CAMATA or equivalent certificate
- Immunizations including COVID-19 must be up to date

Other minimum requirements:

- Criminal Record including Vulnerable Person clearance
- Manitoba Child Abuse Registry clearance
- Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada RAIC pass
- Physically capable of performing the duties of a Flight Nurse.
- Willing to work in remote locations without supervision
- Willing and able to work during various weather conditions
- Must provide a valid passport

Responsibilities:

- The Flight Nurse will assess, treat, prepare patient for transport and accompany patients on the Air Ambulance to the receiving facility.
- The Flight Nurse will be required to be knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of all equipment and supplies used by Vanguard Air Care.
- Responsible for reporting medical equipment failures and taking initial steps to ensure repair of equipment as directed.
- The Flight Nurse will keep the aircraft clean and orderly to insure rapid response to all transport requests.
- The Flight Nurse will represent Vanguard Air Care and its affiliates in a professional and respectful manner at all times and reports directly to the Director of Medevac Services or designate.
- The Flight Nurse works closely and effectively with other members of the air ambulance crew to ensure a positive outcome for all stakeholders.
- The Flight Nurse will maintain his/her documents of required licensure, certifications, continuing education and any other relevant training to his/her scope of practice.
- The Flight Nurse will serve as a role model, educator and clinical resource. Participates in departmental activities, projects and committees.
- The Flight Nurse will maintain awareness of current issues related to transport care through participation in professional activities.

Schedule:

Vanguard Air Care is currently seeking applications for the following opening:

- Full time 14 days on 14 days off rotation.

Preference for employment will be given to those individuals who currently reside in Manitoba or willing to relocate from another province.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $525.00-$700.00 per day
