ABOUT US

Élan Vital Pilates is a boutique Pilates studio in Markham focused on thoughtful movement, quality instruction, and a welcoming member experience.

We’re looking for an experienced Hot Mat Pilates Instructor who can create engaging classes, deliver clear coaching, and help members build strength, confidence, and a lasting connection to movement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will lead group Mat Pilates classes in a heated studio, combining purposeful programming, precise instruction, and motivating music. We’re looking for someone who can bring their own teaching personality while maintaining strong technique, attentive coaching, and a consistent class experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Plan and deliver well-structured Hot Mat Pilates classes with a clear warm-up, progression, and cool-down.

- Use clear verbal cues and demonstrations to coach alignment, breathing, and movement control.

- Offer modifications and progressions for different experience and fitness levels.

- Monitor participants and respond appropriately to fatigue or discomfort in a heated environment.

- Create playlists that support the pace, flow, and energy of each class.

- Build positive relationships with members and help newcomers feel welcome.

- Arrive with enough time to prepare the room and welcome participants.

- Work with the studio team on scheduling, member feedback, and ongoing class development.

- Participate in relevant team meetings and instructor development sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS

- A recognised Mat Pilates teaching certification.

- At least 2 years of group Pilates teaching experience; 3 or more years preferred.

- Previous experience teaching Hot Mat Pilates or comparable classes in a heated studio.

- Strong knowledge of anatomy, exercise technique, and class programming.





- Confidence teaching mixed-level groups with clear modifications and progressions.

- Current CPR/AED certification.

- Professional liability insurance, or willingness to obtain appropriate coverage before starting.

- Reliable communication, punctuality, and a cooperative approach.

- Availability for a consistent weekly schedule. Please specify any early morning, evening, and weekend availability.

EXPERIENCE WE VALUE

Experience teaching contemporary Mat Pilates, Pilates Sculpt, or strength-focused Pilates formats is an asset. Familiarity with resistance bands, Pilates balls, rings, and light weights is also welcome.

COMPENSATION AND SCHEDULE

- CA$50–80 per 50–60-minute class, depending on experience and qualifications.

- Part-time teaching opportunities with scheduling based on mutual availability.

- Class length, preparation expectations, and payment arrangements will be confirmed before starting.
