Skilled in Automotive Glass AND Heavy Equipment Glass? We Want to Hear From You.
Butchs Glass is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Red Seal Automotive Glass Technician with hands-on heavy equipment glass experience to join our team in Abbotsford, BC.
This is a unique opportunity for a technician who can do more than standard automotive glass replacement. We're looking for someone who can confidently measure, cut, and install flat glass for heavy machinery, including excavators, tractors, loaders, and other construction and agricultural equipment.
We're offering competitive pay, a consistent Monday–Friday schedule, modern shop facilities, and the support of an established team.
If you take pride in your workmanship, enjoy variety in your work, and have the skills we're looking for, we'd love to meet you.
What We're Looking For
The following qualifications and experience are required:
- Recognized Red Seal / Journeyperson automotive glass technician certification
- Proven experience in automotive glass repair and replacement
- Hands-on experience with ICBC glass claims and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to measure, cut, shape as required, and install flat glass for heavy machinery
- Experience replacing glass in equipment such as excavators, tractors, loaders, and other construction or agricultural machinery
- Knowledge of appropriate glass types, secure glass handling, installation techniques, and equipment-specific requirements
- Ability to work independently, manage jobs efficiently, and deliver consistent, high-quality results
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Professional communication and a commitment to customer service
Heavy equipment glass experience is a mandatory requirement, not an asset. Applicants must be able to perform flat glass cutting and installation as part of their regular duties.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll work alongside our existing team, providing automotive and heavy equipment glass services to our customers.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Measuring, cutting, preparing, and installing flat glass for heavy equipment
- Replacing glass in excavators, tractors, loaders, and other construction and agricultural machinery
- Identifying suitable glass and determining the correct measurements and fit for each application
- Automotive windshield repair and replacement
- Side, rear, and specialty automotive glass replacement
- Completing automotive glass work involving ICBC claims and procedures
- Following safe glass handling practices and appropriate installation procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work environment
- Coordinating with the office team to keep jobs running smoothly
- Delivering quality workmanship and professional service on every job
This role requires someone who is comfortable working across both automotive and heavy equipment glass applications and can confidently handle the practical demands of each.
What We Offer
$30–$40 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
- Full-time employment, approximately 40 hours per week
- Consistent Monday–Friday schedule
- Brand-recent shop and equipment
- An established team with management and office support
- A professional environment that values quality workmanship
- Opportunity to grow with an expanding local business
- Varied work across automotive and heavy equipment applications
You'll have the support of our management and office team, allowing you to focus on your trade and deliver work you can be proud of.
