About Cadeon
Founded in 2007, Cadeon Inc. is a North American data analytics and artificial intelligence consulting firm helping organizations transform complex information into actionable business decisions.
Our mission is Innovation through Information.
We specialize in enterprise analytics, business intelligence, data modernization, data integration and virtualization, data governance, advanced analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
Through strategic partnerships with leading technology providers, including Spotfire, Denodo, Microsoft, Snowflake, and Databricks, we help organizations unlock greater value from their existing technology investments.
Our clients include leading organizations across OilGas, Energy, Manufacturing, Financial Services, and Technology throughout North America and internationally.
What differentiates Cadeon is our ability to connect business strategy with technical execution. We don't simply implement technology. We help clients improve operational performance, accelerate decision-making, and achieve measurable business outcomes.
Our team combines deep industry knowledge, senior technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering solutions that create lasting value.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and client-focused Business Analyst to join our growing consulting team.
In this role, you will connect our clients' business objectives with practical data, analytics, and technology solutions.
Working directly with client stakeholders, business leaders, project managers, and technical specialists, you will identify business challenges, evaluate opportunities for improvement, define requirements, and help translate business needs into measurable outcomes.
You will support projects involving business intelligence, data modernization, analytics, process optimization, digital transformation, and AI-enabled solutions.
Beyond traditional business analysis, you will help clients identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, strengthen decision-making, and maximize the value of their data and technology investments.
You will contribute throughout the consulting engagement lifecycle, from discovery and solution definition through implementation, testing, adoption, and continuous improvement.
This is a client-facing, billable consulting position requiring strong analytical thinking, business acumen, commercial awareness, and the ability to work collaboratively across multiple engagements.
We are looking for someone who goes beyond documenting requirements. You should be comfortable challenging assumptions, asking meaningful questions, identifying opportunities, and helping clients achieve better business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Analysis and Requirements Management
- Engage directly with client stakeholders, business leaders, and technical teams to understand business objectives, challenges, and opportunities.
- Plan and facilitate stakeholder interviews, requirements workshops, discovery sessions, and business process reviews.
- Gather, analyze, validate, and document functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business process models, and supporting documentation.
- Document current-state and future-state business processes using BPMN, flowcharts, swimlane diagrams, and other recognized modelling techniques.
- Identify process inefficiencies, operational challenges, and opportunities for automation or optimization.
- Analyze the business impact of proposed changes across people, processes, data, and technology.
- Develop business cases, options assessments, cost-benefit analyses, and recommendations to support informed client decisions.
- Maintain appropriate requirements traceability throughout design, development, testing, and implementation.
- Ensure requirements are aligned with agreed project scope, client priorities, and measurable business outcomes.
2. Data Analytics and AI Enablement
- Work with clients to identify business problems and opportunities that can be addressed through data analytics, automation, and artificial intelligence.
- Define business requirements for analytics solutions, including dashboards, reporting, key performance indicators (KPIs), data integration, and operational decision support.
- Collaborate with data architects, engineers, developers, and analytics specialists to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
- Understand client data environments, business data flows, data quality challenges, and information governance requirements.
- Help identify and prioritize AI use cases based on business value, technical feasibility, implementation effort, and organizational readiness.
- Support analytics modernization and AI readiness assessments, including current-state evaluations, gap analysis, and future-state recommendations.
- Contribute to the adoption of AI-enabled analytics capabilities, including generative AI, natural-language interaction, intelligent automation, and decision-support solutions.
- Define measurable success criteria and expected business benefits for analytics and AI initiatives.
- Support client workshops focused on analytics maturity, data modernization, governance, and AI adoption.
- Work with Cadeon's technical teams to ensure proposed solutions are practical, scalable, secure, and aligned with client business needs.
3. Client Consulting and Business Value
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders by developing a strong understanding of their business, industry, and operational priorities.
- Help clients distinguish underlying business needs from requested features or technologies.
- Facilitate productive discussions between business stakeholders and technical specialists to support informed decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve business processes, operational efficiency, data accessibility, and decision-making.
- Support business value assessments that quantify expected productivity improvements, cost savings, risk reduction, and operational benefits.
- Proactively identify opportunities where Cadeon's data analytics, modernization, governance, and AI capabilities could create additional client value.
- Collaborate with Cadeon's Client Engagement team to communicate potential enhancements, additional consulting opportunities, and longer-term client initiatives.
- Present findings, recommendations, business cases, and proposed solutions to client stakeholders, including senior management.
- Help ensure Cadeon delivers solutions that address the client's business objectives rather than simply meeting technical requirements.
4. Project Delivery, Testing and Adoption
- Work closely with project managers, solution architects, technical leads, and delivery specialists throughout the consulting engagement lifecycle.
- Support project planning, scope definition, work breakdown, effort estimation, and deliverable identification.
- Develop and maintain requirements documentation, decision logs, process models, and other project deliverables.

- Facilitate client training sessions and support solution handover.
- Participate in post-implementation reviews to evaluate adoption, effectiveness, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Work within agreed project budgets and timelines while maintaining accurate time records and supporting effective resource utilization.
5. Proposals, Estimation and Business Development Support
- Participate in client discovery sessions and early-stage opportunity assessments.
- Work with Client Engagement and technical teams to help define consulting opportunities and proposed approaches.
- Contribute to proposals, statements of work (SOWs), project scopes, assumptions, deliverables, and implementation plans.
- Break proposed work into defined activities and collaborate with delivery specialists to develop realistic effort and cost estimates.
- Support the preparation of business cases, solution recommendations, and project roadmaps.
- Help identify project risks, dependencies, and potential constraints during proposal development.
- Compare estimated effort against actual delivery results and recommend improvements to future estimation practices.
- Identify opportunities for additional client value and communicate them through the appropriate Cadeon Client Engagement channels.
6. Continuous Improvement and AI-Enabled Productivity
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of Cadeon's consulting methodology, business analysis practices, documentation standards, and delivery templates.
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, reduce rework, and strengthen delivery consistency.
- Use approved generative AI and automation tools responsibly to improve research, analysis, requirements documentation, meeting preparation, and other consulting activities.
- Apply appropriate confidentiality, privacy, security, and quality controls when working with client information or AI-generated outputs.
- Share knowledge, templates, methods, and lessons learned with colleagues.
- Participate in professional development, technology training, and relevant industry certification opportunities.
- Stay informed about emerging trends in data analytics, business intelligence, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.
