Job Summary

- We are seeking reliable part-time and casual Waste Technicians to support rear-loader garbage truck operations. This hands-on role helps keep collection routes running safely and efficiently.
- Work outdoors in changing weather and as part of a crew. Training on route procedures and safe work practices will be provided.
- This is a 6am Start Monday to Friday with opportunites for OVERTIME

Duties

- Assist with residential or commercial waste collection using a rear-loader garbage truck.
- Ride on or work alongside the truck, load waste into the rear-loader, and help operate equipment as trained.
- Perform heavy lifting of bins and waste materials, using secure lifting techniques.
- Support the driver with route awareness, safe vehicle positioning, and communication during collection stops.
- Keep the truck, tools, and work area orderly; report equipment issues, hazards, or spills promptly.
- Follow traffic, workplace, and waste-handling safety procedures,



and provide courteous service to customers.

Requirements

- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including repeated heavy lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods.
- Working outdoors in weather conditions from +35C to -35C. Candidate must dress for the envirnment
- Dependability, punctuality, and the ability to work cooperatively as part of a crew.
- Willingness to work outdoors and follow instructions and safety procedures.
- Previous waste collection, labor, or commercial vehicle experience is an asset but not required.
- This is an EARLY morning start with opportunities for OVERTIME
- Central Downtown/West End location.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 32.0 per week
