Job description:

Assured Group Inc. is a growing construction and renovation company specializing in residential and commercial interior renovations. As we expand our operations into Ottawa, we are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team and help lead our Ottawa projects and operations.

This is an exciting prospect for an experienced construction professional who is looking for a leadership role with a growing company. The successful candidate will oversee projects from pre-construction through completion, coordinate trades and subcontractors, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee residential and commercial renovation projects throughout the Ottawa area from initial planning through completion and client handover.
- Review and identify the scope of work, project requirements, labour requirements, material requirements, and overall job requirements.
- Verify estimated labour and material requirements and identify potential issues before construction begins.
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules to ensure projects remain on track.
- Coordinate with Project Managers regarding the scheduling and installation of trades.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure projects progress efficiently.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections of ongoing and upcoming work to monitor progress, quality, workmanship, and safety.
- Identify deficiencies, construction issues, and potential delays throughout the project and provide effective solutions.
- Address scheduling issues and delays immediately to minimize their impact on project timelines and budgets.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, trades, Designers, and senior management.




- Review daily project photos, videos, reports, and site updates to monitor project progress.
- Coordinate material requirements, selections, deliveries, and site readiness.
- Ensure purchase orders are in place before trades or subcontractors begin work.
- Review and manage change orders, ensuring additional work is properly documented, priced, and approved.
- Monitor labour, material, subcontractor, and overall project costs to maintain project profitability and company margin targets.
- Review subcontractor invoices and verify that completed work is accurate and consistent with the approved scope.
- Manage project deficiencies and ensure they are corrected and completed to company standards.
- Maintain accurate project documentation through the company's construction management software and other systems.
- Ensure company policies, procedures, construction standards, and health and safety requirements are followed.
- Provide leadership, direction, and accountability to trades, subcontractors, labourers, Project Managers, and other project personnel.
- Identify opportunities to improve project efficiency, scheduling, communication, quality, and profitability.
- Work closely with senior management to establish, develop, and grow the company's Ottawa construction operations.
