Our suburban client from the construction sector is looking to hire a Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist for their well established and growing business. Currently in the midst of several business process improvement and modernization projects, our client is looking at succession planning. The Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist will be responsible for working alongside the incumbent payroll professional and helping prepare for the upcoming time and attendance tracking (software) implementation while learning about the businesses' payroll processes. This will eventually be a sole contributor position where the Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist will have total ownership over 5 payrolls averaging 250 total staff members and benefits administration across BC and Alberta.

The ideal Senior Payroll and Benefits Specialist holds their PCP or PLP designation, has a minimum of 5 years of hands on payroll processing experience, and has processed payroll using an ERP system, ideally SAGE. Experience with unionized payroll, ERP payroll and payroll software implementation are REQUIRED to be considered for this position. Experience in the construction (or construction services) industry, and payroll reporting (labour cost, etc.) are assets,
