About Canada Homes For Rent: Canada Homes For Rent is seeking a dependable, hands-on Grounds Crew Team Lead to join our growing operations team. This position is ideal for an experienced, motivated individual who can lead a small crew while actively participating in daily property maintenance, groundskeeping, and seasonal snow and ice management.The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining our properties, operating equipment safely, completing jobs efficiently, and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.

Key ResponsibilitiesGrounds Maintenance and Landscaping

- Lead and participate in lawn mowing, trimming, edging, and general yard maintenance.
- Maintain outdoor areas and ensure properties are clean, safe, and presentable.
- Operate lawn care equipment, trailers, and related tools safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate daily work assignments and ensure scheduled properties are completed on time.

Property Cleanouts and Maintenance

- Perform unit cleanouts, including the removal and disposal of unwanted furniture, garbage, and other materials.
- Complete heavy lifting and physically demanding labour as required.
- Haul debris and materials using a dump trailer and other equipment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.

Snow Removal and Ice Control

- Lead and participate in winter snow removal operations at residential and light commercial properties.
- Operate snow removal equipment and coordinate crew activities during winter weather events.
- Perform sanding, salting, and other ice control measures as required.
- Respond to changing weather conditions and operational priorities,



including occasional after-hours and weekend work.

Team Leadership and Equipment Operation

- Supervise and work alongside a small crew to ensure jobs are completed safely and efficiently.
- Assign tasks, monitor work quality, and ensure employees follow company procedures.
- Tow and manoeuvre mowing trailers, equipment trailers, and dump trailers.
- Conduct basic equipment checks and report maintenance or repair requirements.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding completed work, job progress, and operational issues.
- Maintain a skilled attitude when working at properties and interacting with residents, tenants, and clients.

Required Qualifications

- Valid Class 5 driver's licence.
- Proven experience leading and working within a small crew.
- Experience towing and hauling mowing trailers, equipment trailers, and dump trailers.
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, property maintenance, or snow removal.
- Ability to safely operate lawn care and grounds maintenance equipment.
- Physically capable of heavy lifting, manual labour, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage daily priorities.
- Reliable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with commercial or residential snow removal operations.




- Experience operating tractors, plow equipment, or other grounds maintenance machinery.
- Knowledge of sanding, salting, and winter ice control procedures.
- Basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working across multiple properties with daily schedules and deadlines.

Work Environment and Schedule

- Outdoor work in all weather conditions throughout the year.
- Physically demanding position involving lifting, bending, carrying, and equipment handling.
- Seasonal changes in workload, with lawn care and grounds maintenance during warmer months and snow removal and ice control during winter.
- Flexible availability is required during winter weather events, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.
- Ability to work extended hours when operational demands require it.
