Position Summary

Shawarma Royale is looking for friendly and dependable team members to greet and serve guests, prepare food, process payments, and maintain food safety and sanitation standards. As a representative of our brand, you will help create a welcoming atmosphere while delivering great food and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

- Greet guests in a cheerful and helpful manner and accurately take and prepare their orders.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the menu, including ingredients, flavours, toppings, and sauces, to assist guests with their selections.
- Use the POS system to record orders, process transactions, and collect payments accurately.
- Prepare shawarma wraps, plates, sides, and other menu items according to Shawarma Royale’s recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards.
- Check food products and supplies regularly and restock preparation and service areas as needed.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, preparation areas, service counters, dining areas, and washrooms.
- Complete opening and closing duties according to scheduled shifts, including securing the restaurant if assigned keyholder responsibilities.
- Follow checklists and instructions provided by restaurant managers and shift leaders.
- Adhere to all quality standards, recipes, and procedures outlined in the operations manual.
- Complete all required training, including hands-on food preparation and customer service training.
- Address customer concerns professionally and escalate issues to a shift leader or manager when necessary.
- Check in with guests in the dining area to ensure they are satisfied with their meals and service.
- Treat colleagues respectfully and contribute to a positive team workplace.
- Communicate relevant updates to the next shift using the store’s established communication methods.
- Provide advance notice of changes to availability, understanding that shifts depend on business needs and cannot be guaranteed.
- Use the restaurant’s WhatsApp group appropriately for operational communication. Keep messages professional and respectful, and direct individual concerns to the manager.

Prerequisites

- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Communication: Able to communicate clearly in English with guests and team members and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Skills: Strong customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.
- Technology: Comfortable using a POS terminal and accessing online training courses.
- Physical requirements: Ability to bend, stand, and walk throughout the shift and lift up to 10 pounds frequently and 30 pounds occasionally, with accommodation as required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $17.60 per hour
