Job Summary

Aqua-Check, Inc is looking to hire a Water Quality Technician to work in the Antigonish to Guysborough region in NS.

This is a casual permanent position and ideal for retired persons or individuals not requiring full time hours. This position will provide an estimated 40-60 days of work each year as outlined below:

- January: ~ 5 days
- February: ~ 1 days
- March: ~ 5 days
- April: ~ 9 days
- May: ~ 4 days
- June: ~ 4 days
- July: ~ 2 days
- August: ~ 5 days
- September: ~ 4 days
- October: ~ 1 days
- November: ~2 day
- December: ~ 4 days

Key Responsibilities

- Collection of potable water quality samples
- Collection of GPS positions, site photographs and observations
- Collection of field measurements using skilled testing equipment
- Installation & collection of radon testing equipment
- Travel across eastern region of NS on a regular basis, travel outside this region occasionally

Key Skills

- Reliable & communicative, as applicant will be working unsupervised
- Independent & self-motivated (applicants make their own schedule, appointments and ensure deadlines are met)




- Experienced in using communication and video-conferencing tools like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and Outlook for seamless remote collaboration
- Able to grasp and apply new technical concepts

Job Requirements

- Valid driver's license
- Reliable vehicle
- Available for travel throughout the eastern region of NS (Antigonish - Guysborough) between the possible hours of 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM. *All mileage associated with your work will be expensed at company rates*

All training is provided. Successful applicants will be provided with complimentary WHMIS and OHS training, as well as water quality training courses tailored specifically for this position.
