THREE POINT MOTORS
Burnside
Great brands are built by great people. And excellence happens behind the scenes as much as it does in the showroom.
At our Mercedes-Benz dealerships on beautiful Vancouver Island, we believe that exceptional results come from exceptional people. People who take pride in their work, support one another, and share a commitment to doing things right.
Mercedes-Benz invented the automobile and has built its reputation through generations of leadership in safety, engineering excellence, innovation and attention to detail. We strive to uphold those same standards in our dealerships, from the experience we create for our employees and clients to the way we operate our business.
We are looking for a talented Dealership Accountant who wants to share in that commitment to excellence.
This is more than a position in accounting. It is an opportunity to become an important part of a professional, ambitious and supportive dealership team, where your knowledge, judgment and contributions genuinely matter.
The Opportunity
Reporting to our Mercedes-Benz Controller, you will play a key role in the financial operations of our two Mercedes-Benz dealerships on Vancouver Island.
You will be part of a cooperative accounting team supporting both dealerships, working closely with management and colleagues across sales, service, parts and administration.
Your work will help ensure that our financial information is accurate, timely and meaningful, supporting sound business decisions and the continued success of our dealerships.
We value people who look beyond the numbers, understand the importance of teamwork and take satisfaction in helping a business perform at its best.
What You Will Do
- Work collaboratively within an accounting team supporting both Mercedes-Benz dealerships on Vancouver Island.
- Manage essential full-cycle accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries and bank reconciliations.
- Support daily dealership accounting activities across new and pre-owned vehicle sales, service and parts.
- Review vehicle transactions, contracts, inventory accounting and lender funding for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile key accounts, including vehicle inventory, floorplan financing, manufacturer accounts and departmental transactions.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, adjustments and supporting schedules.
- Participate in month-end closing, financial statement preparation, budgeting and forecasting.
- Support manufacturer reporting,
statutory filings and compliance requirements.
- Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations where required.
- Work closely with our Controller and dealership management to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and stronger financial performance.
- Contribute ideas that improve processes, strengthen internal controls and make our business better.
Who Will Thrive in This Role?
We are looking for someone who combines strong accounting skills with a positive attitude, sound judgment and genuine pride in their work.
You are someone who:
- Values excellence. Accuracy, organization and attention to detail are part of your professional identity.
- Understands the bigger picture. You recognize that accounting is not just about reporting results, but about helping the business succeed.
- Communicates with confidence. You can turn financial information into clear, practical insights for colleagues who may not have an accounting background.
- Enjoys being part of a team. You listen, collaborate, support others and contribute to a respectful workplace.
- Takes ownership. You manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on commitments.
- Demonstrates integrity. Confidentiality, discretion and sound professional ethics are second nature.
- Embraces improvement. You are adaptable, curious and motivated to make good processes even better.
Your Experience
Ideally, you will bring:
- An accounting diploma, degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in full-cycle accounting, reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with accounting software.
- Good organizational, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a larger team.
Experience in automotive dealership accounting, particularly with CDK or another dealership management system, would be an advantage.
However, automotive experience is not essential. We are equally interested in talented accounting professionals from other industries who have the right skills,
attitude and ambition to learn.
A CPA designation, or progress toward one, is an asset but not a requirement.
