Position Title: Security Guard

Employment Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $20.40 - $21.93 / hour

Site: Seneca Polytechnic - Newnham

Schedule: Various shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available)

Overtime Methodology: Averaging Agreement (AA) after 88 hours

Site Overview

Seneca Polytechnic's Newnham campus is a active educational community in North York. The security team serves as an essential community partner, maintaining a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment across academic buildings, campus residences, and common spaces.

What You'll Be Doing

- Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of campus grounds, facilities, and residences.

- Respond to campus incidents, safety alarms, and medical emergencies.

- Provide directions, information, and assistance to students, faculty, and campus visitors.

- Monitor access points, assist with event crowd management, and enforce campus safety policies.

- Write detailed incident reports and support campus safety investigations.

- Coordinate with local emergency services, including Toronto Police, Fire, and EMS, as well as campus partners.

- Support student wellness and contribute to a secure residence environment.

Must Haves

- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

- Valid Ontario Security Guard License.

- WSIB-approved Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification.

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Cannot be a current Seneca student at the Newnham campus.

- Valid Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certifications (or willingness to complete Paladin's free certification program prior to onboarding).

- Clear communication skills and a professional approach to customer service.

Nice-to-Haves

- Prior security experience in a post-secondary or healthcare environment.





- Bilingual or multilingual skills.
