At Newleaf, we believe the earliest years deserve extraordinary care. We are looking for a warm, dependable and dedicated certified Infant Toddler Educator who understands the importance of secure relationships, responsive care and meaningful play.

Our child centred program encourages curiosity through sensory exploration, music, movement, nature and everyday discoveries. We respect each child’s individual rhythm and work closely with families to create a nurturing sense of belonging.

Job Responsibilities

- Build trusting relationships with infants and toddlers through warm, attentive and responsive interactions. Plan engaging experiences that support language, physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. Follow children’s interests and provide opportunities for sensory exploration, creative expression and outdoor play. Respond thoughtfully to individual feeding, sleeping, diapering and comfort needs. Support emerging independence, communication and emotional regulation through positive guidance. Maintain active supervision and follow safe sleep practices and centre procedures. Observe and document children’s interests, learning and development. Communicate respectfully with families and share daily updates through Lillio. Maintain accurate attendance, care and incident records. Keep classrooms and care areas clean, organized and inviting.



Follow applicable childcare licensing requirements and centre health and safety policies. Collaborate with colleagues to provide consistent, nurturing care throughout the day.

Qualifications

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator and Infant Toddler Educator certificates. Current Emergency Child Care First Aid and CPR certification. Ability to meet criminal record screening requirements for working with children. Knowledge of infant and toddler development, responsive caregiving and positive guidance. Robust communication, teamwork and organizational skills. A patient, caring approach and a commitment to professional practice. Previous experience working with infants and toddlers is preferred.
