Overview

A&W; is seeking a dependable, friendly Cook & Cashier to help deliver a welcoming experience and quality food to every guest. This hands-on restaurant role combines kitchen duties with front-counter service. You’ll prepare menu items, take and process orders, and help keep the restaurant clean, organized, and operating smoothly. Restaurant, food service, or kitchen experience is helpful, but a strong customer-first attitude and willingness to learn are essential.

Responsibilities

- Prepare food and beverages according to recipes, portion standards, and food safety procedures.
- Take guest orders, answer questions about menu items, and provide courteous, efficient customer service.
- Operate the POS system to enter orders and process payments; experience with Micros POS is an asset.
- Handle cash and card transactions accurately, provide correct change, and follow cash-handling procedures.
- Support order assembly and serving, checking orders for accuracy and presentation before they reach guests.
- Suggest relevant menu items and use appropriate upselling techniques without pressuring customers.




- Maintain clean and sanitary work areas, kitchen equipment, counters, and dining spaces.
- Follow food-handling, sanitation, and food-safety practices, including proper storage and cleaning procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members and manage tasks efficiently during busy periods.

Skills

- Customer service and clear, courteous communication.
- Food preparation, food handling, and food-safety awareness.
- Cashiering, cash handling, and familiarity with POS systems; Micros POS experience is a plus.
- Basic math and accuracy when processing orders and payments.
- Time management, organization, and the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Attention to sanitation and cleanliness.
- Food service, restaurant, food industry, serving, or kitchen experience is an asset.
- Willingness to learn procedures, follow instructions, and contribute to a team.

Pay: $18.35-$19.00 per hour
