About the Opportunity

A Kind Chapter Care Services Inc. is seeking a kind, patient, and dependable caregiver to provide part time in-home support for an older adult living with dementia in Airdrie, Alberta.

The family currently provides most of her day-to-day care and is looking for additional support to help their loved one remain safe and comfortable at home while giving family members some well-deserved relief.

This is a small, flexible position for someone who enjoys building a trusting relationship with an older adult and supporting families through the challenges of dementia care.

Position Details

- Location: Airdrie, Alberta
- Hours: Up to 20 hours per month
- Schedule: Flexible, coordinated with the family
- Employment Type: Casual, part-time
- Pay: $17–$23 per hour, depending on experience
- Start Date: Within the next month or two

Safety, Dementia Support & Family Relief

- Provide attentive supervision and reassurance to help the client remain safe and comfortable at home.
- Be aware of dementia-related changes in memory, judgment, orientation, and behaviour that may affect safety.
- Follow the family's instructions and agreed-upon care plan, including any identified safety precautions.
- Help with daily activities and personal care as needed, while encouraging independence and respecting the client's dignity.




- Provide dependable support that allows family members to take breaks with greater peace of mind.

Qualifications

- Previous experience caring for older adults; dementia-care experience is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable providing occasional personal care and supervision.
- Patient, compassionate, reliable, and attentive to safety.
- Able to communicate effectively with family members and follow care instructions.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
- Professional references required.
- Willing to complete an appropriate background check, including a vulnerable sector check where applicable.
