Overview

We are seeking a friendly, attentive Server to provide welcoming and efficient service in a restaurant setting. The ideal candidate enjoys hospitality, communicates clearly, and can help guests have a positive dining experience from arrival through checkout. This role involves coordinating with the kitchen and service team while following food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

- Welcome guests, explain menu items, answer questions, and accommodate requests when possible.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them into the POS system; experience with Micros POS is a plus.
- Serve meals and beverages promptly, check in with guests, and address concerns professionally.
- Recommend menu items and use thoughtful upselling to enhance the guest experience.
- Process payments, operate the register, and handle cash and card transactions accurately.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to communicate orders, special requests, and timing.
- Support food preparation and food handling as needed, following established food safety procedures.
- Keep dining areas, service stations, and work surfaces clean and organized in accordance with sanitation standards.
- Manage multiple tables and tasks while maintaining strong time management and attention to detail.




- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support smooth restaurant operations and quality guest services.

Requirements

- Customer service, serving, or hospitality experience preferred; food service, restaurant, or broader food industry experience is an asset.
- Familiarity with POS systems preferred; Micros POS experience is a plus.
- Basic math skills for order accuracy, billing, and payment processing.
- Cashiering and cash-handling experience preferred.
- Understanding of food handling, food safety, sanitation, and safe food preparation practices.
- Kitchen experience is helpful, along with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen and service teams.
- Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and time management skills.
- Dependable, guest-focused approach and ability to remain courteous and composed in a busy workplace.

Pay: From $3,500.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Oakville, ON L6H 1M4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
