EXO Construction Group a division of METHOD Innovation Partners

Surrey

Our people are EXO’s greatest strength. Come and join the team while enjoying the pursuit of new projects and opportunities. Our relationships with the customer, community and environment are why we do what we do. We strive to create spaces that will be enjoyed for years to come while having a minimal environmental impact. Let’s grow together within our community!

EXO Construction Group is a growing General Contracting, Design Builder, and Construction Management company based in Surrey, BC. Our main focus is within the growing demand of new construction including EXO Building System, our proprietary modular building system, building upgrades and on Tenant Improvements .

We are actively seeking a motivated and talented individual to join our team as a full-time Business Development Manager.

The Chance

EXO Construction Group is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead the growth of our Panel Direct business.

This is a senior, hands-on sales role for someone who understands construction, enjoys developing new markets, and knows how to turn technical building solutions into commercial opportunities.

You will take EXO’s proprietary panelized building systems into the market, developing relationships with general contractors, owners, developers, structural engineers, architects and other construction partners. You will be responsible for building a strong pipeline, achieving sales targets, opening new markets and advancing opportunities from initial conversation through to award.

The role works closely with EXO’s Product, Construction, Estimating, Marketing and technical teams. You will develop a strong working knowledge of our panelized building systems and be able to communicate its applications and value while bringing the right technical specialists into customer conversations when required.

EXO delivers projects through multiple models, including Panel Supply, Design-Assist, Design-Build, General Contracting and Construction Management. An important part of this role is understanding the customer and project well enough to identify where Panel Direct fits, and where a broader EXO solution may create greater value.

What You’ll Do

- Develop and execute a business development and sales plan for EXO Panel Direct.
- Achieve quarterly and annual sales and booking targets.
- Build and maintain a strong qualified pipeline and accurate sales forecast.
- Proactively identify and pursue new customers, projects and strategic relationships.
- Develop relationships with general contractors, structural engineers, owners,

developers, architects, consultants and construction partners.
- Spend significant time in the market through customer meetings, project visits, presentations, industry events and targeted travel.
- Expand opportunities across institutional, commercial, industrial and other appropriate construction markets.
- Identify and develop new geographic markets throughout Western Canada and beyond.
- Conduct discovery with customers to understand project requirements, schedule, scope, decision criteria and construction challenges.
- Qualify opportunities for technical, commercial and strategic fit before significant internal resources are committed.
- Coordinate with Product, Construction, Estimating and technical teams to develop appropriate solutions.
- Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, including qualification, technical review, pricing, proposal, negotiation and award.
- Track sales KPIs, pipeline development, conversion and bookings, and adjust sales activity where results require it.
- Provide market and customer feedback that helps EXO continue to strengthen its panel offering and go-to-market approach.
- Maintain accurate opportunity, activity and forecast information in CRM.

What You Bring

- Minimum 5 years of successful business development, construction sales, building-product sales or related industry experience.
- A construction background, an extensive network with established relationships with stakeholders, and practical understanding of how commercial and institutional buildings are designed, procured and built.
- Demonstrated success developing new business, territories or markets.
- Experience selling technical, engineered or project-based solutions.
- Strong understanding of the construction sales cycle and the roles of owners, consultants, engineers and contractors.
- Ability to build credibility with both technical and commercial decision-makers.
- Strong opportunity qualification, consultative selling, presentation and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated experience working to sales targets, KPIs and pipeline requirements.
- Robust CRM and forecasting discipline.
- Ability to understand drawings,

specifications and technical information at a level appropriate to a business development role.
- Strong communication and relationship-development skills.
- Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with multiple internal teams.
- Comfortable with frequent travel throughout Western Canada and into other markets as opportunities develop.

Experience with panelized, prefabricated, modular, building-envelope, structural or other off-site construction systems would be a strong asset.

The Person

You are a business developer who prefers creating opportunity to managing an established book of business.

You are commercially driven, technically curious and comfortable working in a developing market. You can establish a plan and execute it with discipline, but you are equally comfortable changing course when customer feedback, pipeline results or market conditions indicate a better path.

You enjoy being in front of customers, understand that construction sales require persistence and credibility, and know how to move from an initial conversation to a qualified opportunity and ultimately an awarded project.

You have an extensive local network and established relationships within the construction industry that fit this opportunity.
