Job Summary

We are seeking a safety-focused Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain equipment used in the metal recycling industry, and site operations. The successful candidate will follow established safety procedures during on and off site operations, complete routine equipment checks, and work collaboratively with team members to keep operations running efficiently. This is a paid position.

Duties

- Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to move, load, unload, and position materials on and off site.
- Use a Excavator, Loader, Skid Steer and other assigned machinery to handle materials.
- Support the movement, staging, and organization of material in accordance with site procedures.
- Conduct pre-operation inspections and report equipment defects or safety concerns promptly.
- Perform basic cleaning and routine upkeep of equipment; assist with minor troubleshooting and all repairs.




- Coordinate equipment operations with coworkers and follow directions from supervisors.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and comply with applicable safety requirements.

Qualifications

- Previous heavy equipment operation experience preferred; Excavator, Loader, Skid Steer experience is an asset.
- Experience handling Scrap Metal or working in a metal recycling environment is beneficial.
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting knowledge is helpful.
- Ability to follow instructions, communicate clearly, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Commitment to safe work practices and willingness to complete required training.

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 50.0 per week
