Overview

We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Bakery Clerk to join our team. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service, ensuring the bakery area is well-stocked and sanitized, and maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the bakery section. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, experience in food service or retail, and a strong commitment to food safety standards. Duties

- Assist customers with their bakery selections, answer questions about products, and provide recommendations to enhance their shopping experience
- Prepare and package baked goods, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed
- Restock bakery displays with fresh products, monitor inventory levels, and rotate stock as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of the bakery area, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment in compliance with food safety standards




- Upsell bakery items and promote special offers or recent products to increase sales

Qualifications

- Previous experience in food service, retail, or restaurant environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food preparation, handling, and sanitation protocols within the food industry
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with customers
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain training upon hire is advantageous
- A positive attitude, reliability, and a team-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role

Pay: From $16.40 per hour

Expected hours: 28.0 per week
