Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Facilities Engineer-In-Training, is responsible to provide technical support to the Operations, Project Management, HSE and Sales Teams. This position is also responsible for the development and implementation of new technologies.

This role is based at our Calgary office location and will also provide technical support to TARA’s Engineering Team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design & Engineering

- Utilize AutoCAD Software to create and revise generalized and to scale Lease Layout Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;) for operations and clients.
- Perform calculations to determine flow velocities for various operating conditions and flow compositions to set operating limits on various equipment configurations.

Flow Test Data Reporting

- Provide QA/QC checking of well information and flow test data for Flow Reports.
- Ensure compositional analysis are received from Labs and incorporated accurately into the Flow Reports.
- Provide flow reporting support to field staff.
- Interface with Oil & Gas Companies to provide requested reporting data.

Business Development

- Provide marketing materials, new ideas and prepare presentations to assist the Sales Team.
- Meet with Oil & Gas Company representatives in support of the Sales Team to provide information and technical solutions for their unique requirements.




- Support the development of news releases, articles and social media posts that highlight Tara activities.

Health Safety & Environment

- Assist the HSE Team preparing diagrams for incident reports.
- Attend safety meetings in the shop and field locations when there.
- Complete process safety incident reviews and support the operations team with detailed analysis and suggesting corrective actions.

Projects & Project Management

- Assist in the preparation of Basis of Design Documents, detailed cost estimates, project economics, project schedules and peer reviews during the Design Phase.

Qualifications, Competencies & Experience

- University / College Graduate with an Engineering Degree
- Registered as an Engineer-in-Training and in good standing with APEGA
- Experience in the Oil and Gas Industry would be an asset
- 1-2 years of engineering experience would be an asset
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
- Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office Suite software would be an asset
- Experience with AutoCAD Software would be an asset
