Job Overview

We are looking for a dependable and motivated Welder Helper to join our team in custom metal fabrication. We specialize in building and installing custom metal stairs, railings, gates, doors, fences, and other architectural metalwork.

Basic welding experience is required, but you do not need to be an experienced fabricator. We are willing to train the right person who wants to learn the trade and develop into a skilled metal fabricator.

You will work alongside experienced fabricators in our shop and assist with on-site installations. This is a hands-on opportunity to expand your welding skills and learn how to measure, cut, fit, assemble, and fabricate custom metal products from start to finish.

Responsibilities

- Assist with the fabrication of custom metal stairs, railings, gates, doors, fences, and other metal products.
- Perform basic welding and assist with welding and assembly tasks.
- Measure, cut, grind, drill, fit, and prepare metal components.
- Learn to read shop drawings and follow measurements.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment safely.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and handling materials.
- Help install fabricated metal products at residential and commercial job sites.
- Assist with positioning, leveling, fitting, and securing products during installation.
- Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area.




- Follow safety procedures and instructions from experienced team members.

Requirements

- Basic welding skills and hands-on welding experience.
- Willingness to learn metal fabrication and develop new skills.
- Good work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Comfortable using basic hand tools and power tools.
- Physically capable of lifting and handling metal materials.
- Willingness to work both in the shop and on job sites.
- Previous fabrication, construction, or installation experience is an asset, but not required.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.
