GIGG Express Inc. is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support the Controller in financial reporting, budgeting, expense management, analytics, month-end/year-end close and accounting for the Group’s operating and property holding companies.

The successful candidate will have strong full-cycle accounting experience, advanced Excel and accounting system skills, and the ability to manage financial reporting, reconciliations, tenant accounting and property-related financial administration.

Job Responsibilities

- Gather, organize and analyze financial data and prepare financial and management reports.
- Perform bank entries and reconciliations, general ledger reconciliations, cash and credit card transaction reviews, and payment reviews including cheques, EFTs/ACHs and wires.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual HST/QST filings and other required financial reporting.
- Prepare and reconcile intercompany allocations, invoices and balances.
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with ASPE and analyze income statement and balance sheet trends and KPIs.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, including preparation of audit working papers and year-end audit packages.
- Assist with regulatory and external audits and respond to auditor information requests.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, investigate discrepancies and improve accounting processes.
- Maintain complete accounting records for the Group’s property holding companies, including rental income, expenses, utility costs and tenant receivables.




- Prepare and maintain monthly rent rolls, reconcile rental income and provide monthly property management reporting.
- Monitor monthly rent collections and perform timely follow-up with tenants on outstanding rent and other amounts due.
- Maintain and monitor post-dated rent cheques, deposits and tenant payment schedules.
- Review and coordinate payment of property utility bills and tenant-related utility recoveries.
- Assist with preparation and review of recent tenant lease agreements, renewals, amendments and extensions, ensuring approved financial terms are accurately reflected.
- Track lease expiry and renewal dates, notify management and tenants of upcoming renewals and follow up on executed agreements.
- Maintain solid and professional tenant relationships and respond to rent, billing and account-related inquiries.
- Develop and document SOPs and support improvements to financial policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff and review work for accuracy.
- Complete ad-hoc financial analysis and projects to support management decision-making.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance,



Accounting or related field.
- CPA designation or currently enrolled at the final level.
- Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Sage 300.
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup/reference formulas.
- Strong full-cycle accounting, financial reporting and reconciliation experience.
- Experience with property accounting, rental accounting or commercial property administration is preferred.
- Experience with trucking/logistics companies is preferred.
- Intercompany accounting experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational and follow-up skills, particularly when dealing with tenants and outstanding receivables.
