About Us

Gordon Barr Ltd. is a civil construction contractor and part of the Barr Group of Companies. We've built a reputation in the Kingston area for underground services, site servicing and infrastructure work. We're looking for an experienced Mobile Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our fleet running safely and efficiently on job sites across the region.

What You'll Do

- Diagnose, repair and maintain heavy equipment in the field, including excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, articulated haulers and dump trucks
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing to reduce downtime
- Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, engine, drivetrain and emissions systems
- Respond to breakdowns on active construction sites and get equipment back to work quickly
- Operate and maintain a fully equipped mobile service truck
- Complete inspections, work orders, service records and parts requests accurately
- Work with site supervisors and the shop to schedule repairs around production
- Follow all company safety policies and Ontario health and safety requirements

What We're Looking For

- 310T (Truck and Coach Technician) or 421A (Heavy Duty Equipment Technician) Certificate of Qualification, or equivalent
- 3+ years of experience repairing heavy construction equipment, preferably in the field
- Strong diagnostic skills,



including use of electronic diagnostic software
- Valid Ontario driver's licence with a clean abstract; DZ licence an asset
- Welding and fabrication experience an asset
- Ability to work independently, manage your own schedule and make sound decisions on site
- Willingness to work extended hours or respond to breakdowns during peak season
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Heavy lifting
- Your own tools

Compensation and Benefits

- $40.00 – $46.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
