We are currently recruiting an experienced Dining Room Supervisor on behalf of Oakville Senior Citizens Residence (OSCR) in Oakville, Ontario.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dining Room Supervisor to oversee daily dining room operations and ensure a safe, positive, and high-quality dining experience for residents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising dining room staff, coordinating meal service, maintaining service standards, and supporting the smooth operation of the Food Services Department.

This position reports directly to the Food Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities

- Supervise daily dining room meal service, ensuring high standards of client and guest service.
- Oversee dining room staff, providing direction, training, and ongoing support.
- Ensure the dining room operates efficiently and remains clean and organized before, during, and after meals.
- Address resident concerns and complaints promptly, professionally, and courteously.
- Conduct new employee orientations and provide on-the-job training.
- Monitor staff performance and communicate concerns or incidents to the Food Services Manager.




- Ensure adequate staffing coverage for all scheduled positions and arrange replacements when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of resident and guest meal attendance and conduct required resident security checks.
- Assist in developing and improving dining room operating procedures and service standards.
- Communicate operational concerns involving staff, scheduling, equipment, and maintenance.
- Maintain a safe and respectful workplace in accordance with occupational health and safety requirements.
- Follow all facility policies, including workplace safety, privacy, and confidentiality standards.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Assist with other food service duties when necessary.

Qualifications & Requirements

- 3–5 years of previous experience in the Food Services industry required.
- 1–2 years of supervisory experience required.
- Valid Food Handler / Food Safety Certification required.
- Successful Background Check required.
- Completion of secondary school.
- Strong communication skills and ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including WHMIS, Fire Safety, and Occupational Health & Safety regulations.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to supervise staff,



handle resident concerns, and maintain professional working relationships.
- Ability to work independently when required, particularly during evenings and weekends.
- Ability to adapt to changing workplace needs and priorities.
- Comfortable standing and walking for extended periods and assisting in kitchen areas when required.
