An independently owned pharmacy looking for a Pharmacist to work on a Full-time basis. We are looking for a positive and friendly individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills and a good work ethic.

The pharmacy provides OAT services to downtown East side residents. We are looking for a pharmacist to work inside the store. The shift timing is Monday to Friday is 04:00 am to 12:00 pm or 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm (8 hours/day) and on weekends and Statutory holidays is 04:00 am to 05:00 pm. The job duties include receiving and processing prescriptions, dispensing OAT to walk-in patients, making OAT deliveries ready for the next day, answering phone calls, communicating with Dr's clinic, checking blister packs and other pharmacy responsibilities.

The knowledge of Kroll is preferred. Must be able to work independently and have good customer service and communication skills. Needs to be compassionate with patients with Mental Health problems. 1-2 years of relevant OAT dispensing experience is preferable, but new graduates are also welcome to apply. Training will be provided.

Must be licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of BC. Must be OAT certified from BCPHA. The Pharmacist will be responsible for medication administration, patient education, and maintaining accurate medical records.

Responsibilities

- Receiving and processing prescriptions.
- Dispensing OAT to walk-in patients, making OAT deliveries ready for the next day.
- Answering phone calls, communicating with Dr's clinic, checking blister packs and other pharmacy responsibilities.
- Participating in dispensing of prescriptions, including computer entry, triage of recent orders, collation of data and clinical reviews.

- Ensuring the accuracy of prescriptions dispensed
- Providing professional functions related to dispensing including pharmaceutical care, patient counselling, Med Reviews and Professional Opinions, liaising with other healthcare professionals and documenting interventions and dialogue
- Assisting the Pharmacy Manager in training of new staff
- Providing supervision and leadership in the dispensary while on duty
- Requirement to participate in an on-call rotation
- Occasionally supporting offsite treatment centers with witness ingestion activities.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- A Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Active pharmacist license in the state of practice and in good standing with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists, expected to adhere to the Standards of Practice with the British Columbia College of Pharmacists
- Minimum 1 year Pharmacist experience
- Experience in a Long-Term Care pharmacy environment preferred
- Experience with Kroll an asset
- Able to work some weekends
- Strong knowledge of medication administration protocols and medical terminology is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient care and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Experience:

- Pharmacist: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Pharmacist License (required)
- OAT Certification from BCPHA (preferred)
