Lead complex Financial Lines claims for Definity using coverage analysis, legal negotiation, and investigation skills in a flexible hybrid work experience.
As a Complex Claim Director, you manage cyber liability, directors’ and officers’ liability, employment practices, fidelity and crime, and skilled liability claims. You evaluate moderate to high-severity matters, collaborate with claims and underwriting colleagues, and pursue strong customer service and results. Your legal expertise supports claim strategy and underwriting decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct coverage analysis, investigations, negotiations, and claim resolutions
- Prepare reports on loss development, exposure, coverage, and strategies
- Coordinate recovery opportunities and efforts
- Manage outside counsel,
litigation plans, budgets, and payments
- Answer underwriting legal questions and draft reference materials
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctor or LLB
- Qualified practitioner of law in the employment province
- French and English fluency with excellent communication skills
- At least three years’ legal or claims experience
- Financial Lines experience and strong negotiation skills preferred
