About the Prospect

Osmow’s is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support daily Finance and Accounting operations, including reconciliations, financial reporting and closing activities. You will investigate discrepancies, maintain accurate financial records and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve accounting matters.

This role offers the opportunity to apply your accounting experience and technical skills within a multi-location restaurant business.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and ensure transactions are accurately recorded.
- Prepare vendor, customer and general ledger reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with financial reports, schedules and Excel-based analyses.
- Review, verify and process accounting transactions.
- Communicate with internal departments, vendors, financial institutions and other stakeholders to resolve accounting matters.
- Use accounting software, Excel and approved AI and automation tools to improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide related administrative and operational support to the Finance and Accounting team.

Qualifications and Skills

- Three to five years of relevant accounting experience.
- A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
- A sound understanding of accounting principles and bookkeeping practices.
- Hands-on experience with bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Experience with accounting software or ERP systems, such as NetSuite, QuickBooks or similar platforms.
- Strong Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables and data analysis.




- Familiarity with AI tools, such as ChatGPT or Claude, and their responsible application to accounting and reporting.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience in a multi-location, franchise, retail or restaurant business.
- Familiarity with accounting automation and digital document management.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large datasets.

Compensation The expected annual base salary is $55,000–$65,000 CAD. Placement within the range will reflect relevant experience, demonstrated skills, qualifications and internal equity. Location: Mississauga, Ontario
