About melyn melyn helps First Nations across Canada plan, fund, and build: housing, infrastructure, governance, economic development, the grants that pay for it, and melynBrain, the platform that ties it together. We deliver outcomes, not seats or hours, and a Nation's data is always its own.
The Role
You are the person melyn sends into community: sitting with Chief and Council, department staff, and community members, and getting the work done in the room. Your work splits across two streams that matter equally: the community side of the projects we deliver, and melynBrain implementation and adoption. We want people who can teach, listen, and adapt on the fly, and who treat trust as the job, not a step before it.
If you love being on the ground and turning plans and software into something a community uses every day, keep reading.
What You'll Do
Community engagement for projects
- Plan and run engagement sessions, workshops, community meetings, and open houses for funded projects such as community plans, housing, land use, and economic development
- Coordinate on the ground with band staff, Elders, and Council: scheduling, outreach, and follow-up
- Support community-facing materials such as project websites and newsletters, and keep the Nation and project lead informed
melynBrain implementation and adoption
- Lead implementations on our 8 to 10 week timeline: data migration and setup, department training, then pilot and full rollout
- Map how each department works today, then move their records (policies, BCRs, contracts, housing inventories, and budgets) into one system
- Train staff at every comfort level with technology, from Council members and Elders to front-line administrators, in plain language
- Stay on as the Nation's success contact after go-live and carry real feedback back to our product team
What You Bring
- 3+ years in community engagement, implementation, customer success,
project coordination, training, or another hands-on role on the ground
- Experience facilitating meetings or workshops with community members, staff, or leadership
- Patience and skill teaching technology to people who are not comfortable with it yet
- Willing and able to travel up to 50% of the time, including to remote and rural communities, with stretches away from home
- A full driver's licence, so you can rent a vehicle anywhere in Canada, and a valid passport for cross-border trips
- Project management experience, formal or informal: you have run several projects at once, from plan to close-out, and kept timelines and people on track
- Clear writing: you turn a session into summaries and updates a project lead, Council, or funder can act on
- Real respect for Indigenous self-determination, governance, and OCAP principles
- Based in Canada and legally entitled to work here
- Less experience considered if you can show real ownership and the ability to win people over
Bonus Points
- High comfort with AI, especially Claude Code: you use it every day and can show us something you have built with it
- Experience working with or for First Nations, Métis, or Inuit communities, organizations, or governments
- Experience with band office operations, housing, land use, grants, SaaS implementation, or data migration
- Experience with funder milestones, reporting, and close-out, or a PMP, CAPM, or similar certification
- Bilingual or fluent in an Indigenous language
Who You Are
- Self-driven: you learn about a Nation before you walk into the community, and you find the next thing that needs doing without waiting to be asked
- A problem solver: when a plan stalls or a session goes sideways, you work out a fix on the spot.
When something blocks you, you arrive with options and a recommendation, not just the problem
- Full of ideas: you see a better way to run a session, a rollout, or our own process, and you pitch it, test it, or build it
- Proactive with updates: you check in before anyone has to chase you, flag a slip early, and keep your project lead and the founders in the loop
- An owner: a session is not done until the follow-up is out, and a go-live is not done until the team uses it every day
- At ease in any room: Chief and Council, Elders, front-line staff, or a skeptical department head. Seniority, culture, and personality don't faze you

What It's Like Here melyn is a small team that moves fast and builds as it goes. You work directly with the founders, with no layers in between. Nobody counts your hours and nobody hands you a queue.
You will find gaps nobody assigned, and we hire people who pick them up, find the fix, and sometimes build it themselves. The pace is real, the hours flex, and the team shows up for each other. If you need the path laid out before you start, this is not the place for you.
If ambiguity and quick pivots energize you, you will have a lot of room here. Everyone here is driven, curious, and easy to get along with. We also love a good meme.
How to Apply
Apply through LinkedIn. We'll contact short listed candidated with an AI interview, then schedule an in-person culture-fit chat with our hiring manager. After that a brief interview with the founders.
