If you are a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who likes small town living, this position in Two Hills might be for you! As the successful candidate for this position, you will cover the Long-Term Care department in the Two Hills Health Centre and model Patient and Family Centered Care. Situated 135 km east of Edmonton, Two Hills is a rural center serving an agricultural region.

The town has a population of 1,379 while the county has approximately 4,500 people. Residents have easy access to the downtown and commercial areas, as well as several parks and playgrounds. As members of the nursing team, Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) are responsible and accountable for the protected quality care of clients.

LPNs assess, coordinate and participate in total nursing care for patients and supervise in accordance with nursing practice standards, as well as provide leadership, direction and encouragement to staff.

Description

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures.

Required Qualifications

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications

Two years recent experience as an LPN in a long-term care setting.

Preferred Qualifications

Mentorship and leadership experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
