Company Description

Hume Edge is an AI people enablement and consulting firm based in Calgary. We help enterprise organizations across Canada build the capability to put AI to work in their day-to-day business, through strategy, leadership programs, workforce skilling, and adoption measurement. We are building a bench of trainers for our Microsoft practice to deliver Copilot programs for enterprise clients.

Role Description The Microsoft Copilot Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering training programs that help clients effectively use Microsoft Copilot and related productivity tools. Day-to-day tasks include creating learning materials, conducting workshops, hands-on training sessions, and one-on-one coaching for users with varying levels of technical proficiency. The role involves collaborating with client stakeholders to assess training needs, tailoring curricula for different user groups, and providing ongoing support, including documentation and best-practice guidelines.

This is a contract position. This posting is for future opportunities and is not for an existing vacancy. We review applications as they arrive and hold a shortlist for programs as they are confirmed. A place on the shortlist is not a guarantee of work.

What the Work Looks Like

Some of our programs are delivered virtually in standard session formats. Others are in person, workshop style, where learners work on their own real tasks with Copilot in the room. Most trainers will do some of each.

- Deliver Copilot sessions across Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and OneNote using Hume Edge curriculum and client environments
- Run enterprise awareness sessions, role specific workflow sessions, hands on Application Labs, and small group office hours
- Adapt pace and examples to the audience, from front line staff to senior leaders

- Handle live questions, demo hiccups, and mixed ability rooms without losing the thread
- Provide feedback for further improvements to ensure our programs keep getting better
- Contribute to curriculum updates as the tools change

We are Looking for Two Kinds of Copilot Trainers, and you don't need to be both.

Copilot Trainers for Business Capability

You understand how work gets done in finance, HR, sales, operations, or similar functions, and you can show people how Copilot changes their workflow. Your strength is the business context and the facilitation, not the backend.

Copilot Technical Trainers

You are deep in the Microsoft 365 and Copilot stack, including agents, Copilot Studio, data and security considerations, and you can train IT teams, champions, and power users on how it all fits together.

If you bring both, even better. If you bring one, apply anyway and tell us which.

What You Bring

- Experience training or facilitating adult professionals, including live virtual delivery in government or corporate environments.
- Working fluency with Microsoft 365 Copilot and the M365 suite, matched to your trainer track
- Foundational understanding of Cloud Computing concepts, particularly within the Microsoft ecosystem (e.g., Microsoft 365, Azure) and how they enable Copilot features.
- Experience designing and delivering technical or software training, preferably focused on AI, productivity tools,

or Microsoft technologies.
- Clear, empathetic communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in accessible language to diverse audiences.
- The ability to explain AI and prompting to people who are new or skeptical, without jargon
- Comfort handling live questions, demo hiccups, and mixed ability rooms
- Robust organizational and documentation skills, including creating training guides, quick reference materials, and learning resources.
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada and the ability to invoice as an independent contractor, through a sole proprietorship or corporation
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment in Calgary, AB, managing onsite sessions and remote work with minimal supervision.

Assets

- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 or Azure certifications, training or instructional design credentials)
- Bilingual English and French, with the ability to deliver a full session in either
- Experience inside an enterprise Copilot rollout, on the delivery or client side
- Adoption or change management background, on the client or consulting side

How to Apply

Send a cover letter and your CV to [email protected]. Please include your languages of delivery, your typical availability, and an indicative daily rate or rate card.
