About Us
At Village Craft & Candle, we empower makers, creators, and candle enthusiasts with high-quality supplies, education, and inspiration. We are a passionate, fast-growing brand built on creativity, craftsmanship, and community. We are seeking a dynamic, multi-talented Part-Time Digital Marketer who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and is excited to drive our marketing initiatives from vision to execution.
Position Overview
As our Digital Marketer, you will work directly alongside our Founder and key department heads to shape and execute comprehensive marketing strategies. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where you’ll not only strategize and set direction but also dive into the day-to-day operations of digital marketing across all key channels.
You won’t be doing it alone - you will have a dedicated Marketing Assistant working under your direction to help manage execution, assets, and scheduling.
This is a part-time, fully remote position, but candidates must reside in Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement hands-on growth and engagement strategies across email marketing, paid ads, SEO, affiliate marketing, and influencer partnerships.
- Email Marketing: Oversee campaign planning, copy creation, segmentation, lifecycle automation (Klaviyo/Mailchimp), and continuous A/B testing to drive customer engagement and revenue.
- Paid Advertising: Manage and optimize performance ad campaigns across Meta (Facebook/Instagram), Google, and potentially other channels to ensure target ROI and CAC goals are met.
- SEO & Content Strategy: Drive search engine optimization initiatives (on-page, technical, content strategy)
to grow organic traffic and boost keyword rankings.
- Influencer & Affiliate Marketing: Lead outreach, build relationships, manage creator campaigns, and establish our affiliate network to expand brand awareness and drive sales.
- Team Collaboration & Support: Work hand-in-hand with the Founder and product/operations teams to align marketing efforts with product launches, inventory, and company goals.
- Delegation & Mentorship: Direct and assign tasks to a Marketing Assistant, ensuring workflows remain organized and deadlines are consistently met.
- Analytics & Reporting: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze channel performance, and synthesize data to optimize marketing strategy continuously.
- Budget & Resource Allocation: Own, manage, and optimize the monthly/quarterly marketing budget across paid and organic channels to maximize capital efficiency and profitability.
- Financial Modeling & Forecasting: Partner with leadership to forecast revenue growth, model customer acquisition costs, and project the financial impact of new marketing campaigns or scaling initiatives.
- Unit Economics & LTV/CAC Optimization: Continuously monitor and improve unit economics, ensuring a healthy LTV:CAC ratio, payback periods, and sustainable margin growth across all customer segments.
Qualifications & Skills
- Location: Must be based in Canada (Remote).
- Experience: Proven experience in digital marketing (preferably e-commerce or DTC retail), with strong familiarity across email marketing, paid acquisition, affiliate/influencer management, and SEO.
- Hands-On Mindset: You enjoy both high-level strategic planning and roll-up-your-sleeves execution.
- Tools Knowledge: Proficient with major e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify), email automation software, Meta Ads Manager, Google Analytics, and SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, SEMrush).
- Leadership & Delegation: Demonstrated ability to direct and work alongside support team members (such as a Marketing Assistant) effectively.
- Communication & Collaboration: Robust communication skills to liaise seamlessly with the Founder, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
- Self-Motivated: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects independently in a remote environment.
- Strong Financial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to connect marketing metrics to financial outcomes (e.g., P&L; understanding, return on ad spend [ROAS], contribution margins, and financial forecasting).
- Data-Driven & Analytical Rigor: Advanced proficiency in financial analysis, cohort analysis, and attribution modeling to justify marketing spend and resource deployment.
