Job Summary

- We are seeking a safety-conscious Truck Driver – Class 1 to transport freight reliably and professionally. The role involves operating commercial vehicles, completing required inspections and records, and handling freight safely at pickup and delivery locations.
- This position is suited to a dependable driver who follows regulations, communicates clearly, and takes care of equipment. Forklift or heavy equipment experience is an asset.

Duties

- Operate a Class 1 commercial vehicle to transport freight along assigned routes and schedules.
- Secure, load, unload, and verify freight; operate a forklift when qualified and authorized.
- Complete pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, and report defects or safety concerns promptly.
- Maintain accurate trip, delivery, and vehicle inspection records.
- Follow applicable traffic laws, hours-of-service requirements, site procedures, and safe cargo-handling practices.
- Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers,



and receiving staff regarding deliveries or route changes.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in good working order; identify maintenance needs and perform basic checks or minor automotive repairs when appropriate.
- Operate heavy equipment only when trained, authorized, and required for the work.

Experience

- Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s licence and a driving record that meets applicable requirements.
- Previous commercial driving and freight transportation experience preferred.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation and basic automotive repair is an advantage.
- Ability to complete vehicle inspections, handle freight safely, follow written and verbal instructions, and work independently.
- Strong safety awareness, reliability, and skilled communication skills.

Pay: $20.87-$37.01 per hour
