Job Description

Our clientisseekinganObsolescenceSpecialisttojoinourteam.TheObsolescenceSpecialistprovidesIntegratedLogisticSupport(ILS)engineeringandanalysiswithanemphasisonsoftwareapplication-levelobsolescence,includinglogisticsupportanalysis,dependability,maintenanceplanning,technicaldocumentation,publications,andtrainingforobsolescenceconcerns.

Responsibilities

- SupportthedevelopmentandmaintenanceoftheObsolescenceManagementPlanandrelatedobsolescenceforecastingactivities.
- ContributetotheObsolescenceManagementPlanforsoftwareapplication-levelobsolescenceconcerns.
- Investigate,collaborativelydefine,anddevelopacentralizedlistofhigh-levelsoftwaredependenciesforaprioritizedlistofConfigurationItems(CIs)documentedintheSystemBreakdownStructure(SBS).High-levelsoftwaredependenciesmayinclude,butarenotlimitedto,versionsofJavasupported,versionsofOperatingSoftware(OS)supported,andanyadditionalmajordependenciesidentifiedinthesoftwareobsolescenceroadmap.
- Trackobsolescenceinformation,whichmayinclude,butisnotlimitedto,softwareapplicationversionup-revcycles,softwareapplicationpatchingcycles,upcomingchangestolicensingmodels,andobsolescencewaivers.
- MaintaintraceabilitybetweentheobsolescencereportandtheapprovedConfigurationItem.
- ResearchandtracksoftwareobsolescenceriskforassignedConfigurationItems(CIs),includingend-of-lifeandend-of-supporttimelines.
- Identifyemergingobsolencetrendsandescalatehigh-priorityobsolescenceriskstotheObsolescenceWorkingGroup.
- Maintaintraceabilityanddocumentationacrossobsolescenceriskassessmentsandmitigationartifacts.
- SupportConfigurationandDataManagementaudits,ensuringobsolescencedataremainsaccurateandcurrent.




- MaintainandcontributetoobsolescencetrackingartifactsandsupportObsolescenceWorkingGroupactivitieswithintheCollaborativeWorkEnvironment(CWE),ensuringcompliancewithstakeholder-definedformatting,documentation,andreportingrequirements.
- Participateinobsolescenceriskreviewmeetingsandprovideinputonassigned
- Supporttheimplementationandtrackingofapprovedobsolescencemitigationandwaiveractions.
- Prepareandupdateobsolescencestatusreportsandclient-facingdocumentationasrequired.
- AttendmonthlyObsolescenceMeetingsandcontributetocontinuousimprovementofobsolescenceprocesses.
- ApplyIntegratedLogisticSupportAnalysismethodstohelpidentify,assess,andmitigateobsolescenceissuesacrossthesystemlifecycle.
- ParticipateinAgileceremonies,suchassprintplanning,refinement,andreviews,tosupportobsolescencetrackingwithintheprogramschedule.
- Performotherobsolescence-relateddutiesasassigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

- MustpossessanactiveSECRETsecurityclearance.
- MustbeeligibletobevettedaspartoftheControlledGoodsProgram(CGP).
- Diplomaorbachelor’sdegreeinSoftwareEngineering,ComputerScience,InformationTechnology,orarelatedfield,ordemonstratedexperienceperformingIntegratedLogisticSupport(ILS)activities.
- ProficiencyinExceldatamanagement.
- Detail-oriented,withstrongsystemsthinking.
- In-depthknowledgeofapplicationlicensingmethods.
- Expertiseinversioncontrolandchangemanagement.
- Abilitytoworkwithandmaintainlegacysystems.
- Experiencemanagingrelationshipswithsoftwarevendors.
- Knowledgeininfrastructuresoftwareframeworksandtheirdeployment(Java,.NET,virtualizationtechnologies).
- StrongcomputerliteracywithprovenexperiencewithMicrosoftOfficeproducts;Word,Excel,andPowerPointareessential.
- Experienceinterfacingbetweenvariousinternalandexternalstakeholders.
- Strongorganizationalskillsandtheabilitytobalancemultiplepriorities.
- Experiencewithinprocurement,finance,projectmanagement,orwarehouseenvironmentsisdesirable.
- 3-4 week vacation, full advantages; work on-site (Kanata), hybrid or remote 85-100k Salary.
