- System Engineering Job Schedule: Day Shift Our power division team is expanding its nuclear power control and simulation product line, and we're looking for a Technical Lead, System Engineer to drive it. In this role, you will own the design, integration, and verification of our control and data acquisition systems. Operating with minimal oversight on initiatives of significant organizational importance, you will set technical direction across hardware and software disciplines, translate customer requirements into system specifications, and lead the engineers, developers, and stakeholders who bring those systems to life. This is a hands‑on technical leadership role for someone who wants to shape both the systems and the people who build them — mentoring engineers, helping improve engineering standards, and driving continuous improvement as the Power Division grows. Systems Engineering Leadership Responsible for the systems engineering management plan for the department and projects, overseeing systems engineering activities and the execution of engineering processes. Deliver effective tools, procedures, and training for Systems Engineers across the organization; identify training needs, prepare training plans, and contribute to the development and delivery of systems engineering training.
Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to other engineers, and contribute to the development of new concepts or standards. Manage budget and resources allocated for systems engineering and communicate effectively with leadership on key business and functional matters, including delivering clear and concise briefings. Project Delivery & Technical Oversight Contribute to bids and proposals by reviewing design proposals and preparing and/or reviewing systems engineering estimates. Work with project engineers, customers, and stakeholders to plan engineering metrics and implement measurement and reporting plans. Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Review systems engineering artefacts such as trade studies, systems specifications, system architecture and interface documents, and ensure that quality objectives are achieved. Lead and oversee the development of test plans, test procedures, requirements traceability, and test reports. Documentation, Governance & Continuous Improvement Manage technical documentation including technical specifications, design, manufacturing and test/verification documents; organize engineering baselines and coordinate effective design reviews. Enforce effective information management tools and process to manage design data and technical baselines,
ensuring that achievement of project milestones is supported. Perform/oversee Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analyses, including failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA), maintainability assessments (e.g., MTBF/uptime) to ensure system performance and support lifecycle requirements. Develop and implement an accurate measurement and reporting framework for engineering metrics. Identify and prioritize process improvements, lead implementation activities, and assess the effectiveness of software and tools used for systems engineering and recommend improvements. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline; Minimum of 8 years of project engineering experience or related work experience Subject matter expert with comprehensive knowledge and hands‑on experience in data acquisition hardware, software interfaces and industrial communication protocols within distributed control systems (DCS) environments. Experience with selection/design of hardware for the control and monitoring of process plant instrumentation and translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. Proven experience using IBM DOORS or similar requirements management tools, including requirements capture, traceability (bidirectional), change control, version management, and verification/validation support within complex engineering projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage internal teams, customers, and vendors. Ability to design and execute thorough test procedures, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions, including detailed troubleshooting of subassemblies to the component level. Abi
