What you’ll do:

As Accounting Technician, you’ll join PEI Mutual’s Accounting Team where you’ll be part of the following functions:

- Process and reconcile daily accounting transactions and financial records
- Prepare and maintain account reconciliations, journal entries, and supporting documentation
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions




- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records
- Assist in maintaining accurate and organized accounting files and records
- Assist with the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with other departments
- Calculate and submit payroll, source deductions, and T4 preparation (payroll experience preferred)
- Other general accounting functions specific to the insurance industry, as required

About you:

- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an accounting role
- An understanding of accounting principles
- Highly organized with the ability to maintain a very high level of confidentiality
- Excellent working knowledge and experience with Excel spreadsheets
- Experience in Sage, ADP, and Salesforce systems considered an asset but not required
- Positive attitude with the ability to work well independently and on a team
- Detail-oriented and proficient in managing deadlines and workflow
- A high degree of proficiency with software applications and information technology
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- A high standard of ethical and professional behavior
- Self-motivated and self-directed

Salary Range: $52,500 – $62,500 annually, depending on skills and years of experience.
