Provide insulin administration and one-on-one nursing care as a casual Licensed Practical Nurse with Bayshore HealthCare in Nanaimo, British Columbia. Support clients safely in community homes.
This Licensed Practical Nurse position supports a current client requiring insulin injections. You will provide skilled care while promoting health, safety, dignity, independence, and quality of life. The work requires assessment, documentation, communication, and sound clinical judgment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer insulin injections according to physician orders and care plans
- Assess clients and monitor changes in health status
- Document and report concerns, changes, or adverse reactions
- Communicate with clients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain confidentiality, boundaries, and professional nursing standards
Requirements:
- Graduate of an approved Practical Nursing program
- Current provincial registration and good standing
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Insulin administration and diabetic care experience preferred
- Availability Thursday through Sunday, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
