Manufacturing Engineer/Specialist supporting production through process improvement, technical documentation, and root-cause problem solving for large industrial equipment. Work directly with manufacturing teams.

Kadant Carmanah Design designs and manufactures equipment for Engineered Wood products, including Stranders for OSB and wood-based composites. Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you will support production teams and improve manufacturing methods. The work combines product design knowledge, customer specifications, technical drawings, and operational processes. Collaboration spans Engineering, Production, Purchasing, Sales, unionized employees, and technical personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

- Resolve production-floor issues through root-cause analysis and corrective solutions
- Develop and update clear work instructions with unionized employees




- Maintain BOMs and manufacturing methods in Epicor MRP
- Support continuous improvement across company departments
- Recommend design changes for cost and operational efficiencies

Requirements:

- Education in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
- Experience with 3D CAD, preferably SolidWorks, and 2D CAD
- Ability to read technical drawings and create documentation
- Manufacturing-environment experience and solid computer skills
- Minimum two years in a manufacturing-focused role preferred
