As Director of Planning & Development, you will report directly to the CAO and guide a post-amalgamation department. You will lead people and projects, support Council decisions, and connect planning with Corporate Services, Operations, and the capital program. The position suits candidates from land development, real estate, construction, or related fields.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run Planning & Development and attend Council Meetings on major files
- Hire and shape the team, including an RPP supervisor
- Complete the Land Use Bylaw with the consultant
- Develop applicant checklists, timelines, and understandable approval pathways
- Prepare plain-language Council briefings and required reports
Requirements:
- Leadership experience with people or projects
- Understanding of how development projects get built
- Ability to simplify complex planning matters
- Clear communication and practical judgment
- RPP designation is an asset, not required
