Lead Terrestrial Ecosystem Mapping with terrain interpretation and soils expertise for SLR Consulting projects across British Columbia. Participate in field programs and technical reviews.
SLR Consulting seeks a Senior Terrain and Soils Specialist with strong TEM experience. You will support baseline and environmental assessment projects through terrain classification, soils characterization, field surveys, and mapping. The role also helps expand SLR’s internal TEM capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical oversight for TEM, soils, and terrain projects
- Complete terrain, surficial geology, soils, and ecosystem mapping
- Support planning, fieldwork, analysis, reporting, and technical deliverables
- Review TEM, bioterrain, and terrain mapping products
- Mentor staff and guide field programs technically
Requirements:
- Skilled TEM experience through desktop mapping and field surveys
- Minimum five years of documented terrain and soils field experience
- Knowledge of BC classification systems and provincial mapping standards
- Proficiency with ESRI mapping, QA/QC, geodatabases, and 3D interfaces
- P.Geo. or P.Ag. designation, or eligibility within six months
