Vista Projects is an integrated engineering firm who has been solving complex challenges in the energy industry since 1985. We continually find better, smarter ways to design and deliver oil and gas projects, and we are proud to be contributing on some of the most exciting low-carbon and synthetic fuel developments in the North America. For our people, that means meaningful, varied work and a real chance to shape how up-to-date engineering gets done. We are innovators in the energy industry. We actively find ways to improve how oil and gas projects are designed and delivered, and we are contributing to some remarkable low-carbon and synthetic fuel developments; including electro sustainable aviation fuel (eSAF) and gas-to-liquids (GTL) projects. We are headquartered in Calgary and maintain a satellite office in Houston. Vista Projects is an integrated engineering firm who has been solving complex challenges in the energy industry since 1985. The world needs energy, and better engineering makes the projects that deliver it safer, more efficient and more sustainable.
Our multi-discipline teams have designed some of the most challenging and successful projects in the North American energy sector, from early-stage studies and pilots to large-scale commercial expansions. The Lead Civil and Structural Engineer leads a discipline engineering team in the design of different aspects of energy industry projects from inception to completion. Planning, allocating and reviewing work programs. This includes updatingForecastWeb on a weekly basis and ensuring it is suitably completed to alignwith the demand of the Project/Program Manager. The forecast should beupdated to current project plans and changes to work plans/resourcing needsare communicated through change management to project stakeholders. Preparing weekly progress reports for each project including workcompleted, work planned for the following week and discipline needs Updating project schedule on a weekly basis including marking tasks whichare completed, in progress, and any potential delays. Project schedule along with trackingengineering tasks and deliverables are to be reviewed and maintained inconjunction with Project Management. Establishing scopes of work, man-hour estimates, schedules and prioritiesfor projects or proposals Supervising an engineering team involved in the conception, planning anddevelopment of engineering design, projects, processes,
proposals andestimates Providing leadership and mentorship to project/program disciplineengineering team; acting as a focal point for expertise and direction onengineering solutions Guiding discipline team on project work through to completion in accordancewith the schedule and budget on assigned major projects of high technicalcomplexity Assisting in the negotiation of critical engineering issues Administering the planning, scheduling, cost control and technicalconformance to the design Attending status meetings with clients, project management and suppliers Maintaining current knowledge of industry and regulatory standards Assigning and reviewing work of discipline engineering staff Reviewing vendor or subcontractor quotations, drawings, and specificationsfor technical adequacy and conformance with project requirements Ensuring adherence to Vista Quality Management System (QMS) Supporting development, implementation and maintenance of disciplinedesign standards, checklists and procedures Actively stewarding change management for their discipline activities andimpacts to other discipline activities Supporting discipline man-hour estimates for proposals Providing construction support Authenticating documentation with a professional engineering stamp asrequired Ten-plus years of progressive experience in facilities engineering and design in the energy industry Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering or applied science Ability to work and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and designers including process, mechanical, civil, structural & architectural, electrical, instrumentation & controls and piping Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel Strong organizational skills, technical competence and attention to detail Self-motivated and efficient with time management Ability to meet safety
