SYSTRA Canada is part of the SYSTRA group, an international consulting and engineering group, a world leader in the design of transport infrastructures. SYSTRA Canada is an engineering and consulting firm whose primary focus is to offer transportation solutions, whether for passengers or goods: feasibility studies of building a new railway line, increasing the capacity of the existing infrastructure, privatization of a railway. The Mechanical Designer will design structures, interior finishes, and various systems and components for rail vehicles, including locomotives, passenger cars, freight wagons, and maintenance equipment. They will produce designs using SolidWorks, SolidWorks PDM, and occasionally DraftSight. Design and modify structures, equipment, and interior fittings for rail vehicles, including component layouts, supporting brackets, and fastening systems in compliance with standards and project requirements. Create bolted, welded, and sheet metal assemblies using various materials (steel, stainless steel, aluminum), and develop sheet metal patterns/models. Design plastic and composite components and select hardware items per engineering direction. Prepare material lists and produce detailed drawings for modification, manufacturing, assembly, and installation. Develop assembly manuals and installation instructions. Conduct dimensional surveys on-site or in the workshop to support manufacturing and installation. College diploma (DEC) in mechanical design or Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
