Reporting to the Head Filer, you will be required to safely perform quality work within the scope of the saw filing trade. Sharpen, solder/weld tips, tension, and dispose of saws. Cast babbitt for saw guides, maintain certain saw unit functions, and change out dull or damaged saws when required. Knowledge of functionality, maintenance, and alignment associated with a Circular cut off saw, 5ft, 6ft & 8ft Band Saw (vertical & horizontal), Trim Saw, Gang Saws and Edgers. Understanding of the preventative maintenance processes related to saw shop and sawmill machinery. Correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Other duties as assigned by the Head Filer Knowledge and experience in sawmill and planer operations.
