Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Junior Software Engineer at Somi AI. In this position, the engineer will contribute to the design, development, testing, and maintenance of back-end services and AI-driven applications. Day-to-day tasks include implementing features in collaboration with senior engineers, writing clean and maintainable code, reviewing and debugging existing codebases, and participating in code reviews. The role also involves working with modern development tools, documenting technical decisions, and collaborating closely with product and research teams to deliver reliable, scalable software. and contribute to a supportive, inclusive engineering environment. Qualifications
• Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, such as data structures, algorithms, and software architecture.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, C#, or similar).
• Skills in Back-End Web Development and Software Development, including building APIs, working with databases, and using version control (e.g., Git).
• Ability to write clear, maintainable, and well-tested code, with attention to debugging and performance considerations.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or containerization (e.g., AWS, GCP, Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a remote, distributed team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in AI and machine learning technologies, and willingness to learn recent tools and frameworks as needed.
