The City of West Kelowna seeks a Parks Operator II to support maintenance programs and daily service delivery. The work includes turf inspection, irrigation, equipment operation, safety practices, and sports field care. You will coordinate with senior Parks staff, guide junior employees, and help protect recreational assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect and maintain natural grass and artificial turf
- Monitor turf health and sports field playability
- Assist aeration, fertilization, top dressing, and overseeding programs
- Develop daily work plans with senior Parks staff
- Operate equipment and coordinate special projects safely
Requirements:
- Two years of related experience
- Courses in Turf Management or Horticulture
- Level 1 Certified Irrigation Technician credential
- Pesticide Applicator's or Integrated Pest Management Certificate
- Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License
