About the Role
The developer will take over and deliver development projects within Bluestar’s existing proprietary platform for client intake, identity, appointments, and operational workflows. Working directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing, the developer will assume responsibility for assigned projects from understanding the existing implementation through development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities
- The Director of Sales & Marketing provides product direction, business rules, and priorities. The developer is responsible for investigating the codebase, proposing technical solutions, identifying dependencies,



and completing implementation without requiring step-by-step technical instructions.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance proprietary internal software applications.
- Build new features and components based on business and workflow requirements.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve ongoing software and application issues.
- Implement agreed changes to business workflows while preserving established business rules, client identity relationships, data integrity, and existing functionality.
- Develop and integrate software systems to support internal operations.
- Work across front-end and back-end systems to deliver complete solutions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand workflows, requirements, and system needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve software functionality, performance, usability, and efficiency.
- Maintain existing codebases while integrating new functionality effectively.
- Establish development practices to manage code, changes, and deployments.
- Take over projects at different stages of completion, establish their current state, identify remaining work, and maintain clear progress updates and documentation so the business does not depend on the original developer’s knowledge.
- Use AI-assisted development tools effectively while independently understanding, reviewing, testing, and taking responsibility for the resulting code. Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience independently delivering and supporting production full stack applications,



including taking over existing codebases. Candidates must be able to own projects across application code, databases, integrations, and deployment.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, React, and Express.js.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server/Azure SQL and T-SQL, including stored procedures, relational data modelling, transactions, query troubleshooting, and safe changes to production databases.
- Experience building and maintaining third-party integrations using REST APIs and webhooks, including authentication, retries, duplicate-event prevention, error handling, and troubleshooting across connected systems.
- Experience with GitHub and modern software development workflows.
- Experience with Tailwind CSS.
- Experience with BigQuery is an asset.
- Experience with TanStack is preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to understand and prioritize complex business workflows and translate them into effective software solutions.
- Robust communication and collaboration skills. Education
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred. The successful candidate will:
