Apply advanced Excel and project accounting expertise at CPKC, supporting capital and operational reporting across North America. Analyze expenditures, reconciliations, and financial controls. As Senior Project Accountant, internally Specialist Project Accounting, you will report to the Manager, Project Accounting. You will account for, analyze, and report project expenditures while supporting asset capitalization, project teams, and business partners. The position contributes to reliable reporting for more than $2.5 billion in annual capital project expenditures.

Key Responsibilities
- Review proposals and determine appropriate accounting treatment
- Prepare, analyze, and present project spend reports
- Post monthly journal entries for business transactions




- Reconcile key Balance Sheet accounts monthly
- Review projects and establish final assets upon completion

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, economics, mathematics, or related fields
- Accounting designation such as CFA or CPA
- Minimum three years’ experience in related financial roles
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Ability to prioritize conflicting timelines and requirements Bring project accounting, financial analysis, Excel expertise, and reconciliation skills to CPKC’s capital reporting workplace.
