Design precision analogue electronics and instrumentation at the Ellison Institute of Technology in Oxford, supporting nanopore sequencing development. This Senior Electronics R&D; Engineer role focuses on advanced electronic interfaces, measurement systems, and prototype devices. You will develop low-noise circuits, multi-channel acquisition systems, and automated testing while working with MEMS, mechanical, and multidisciplinary teams. The programme advances decentralised sequencing diagnostics for infectious diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Own electrical engineering development from concepts through integrated prototypes
- Design custom test equipment and experimental measurement platforms
- Develop low-noise analogue circuits and acquisition electronics
- Investigate noise, leakage, shielding, grounding,
and signal integrity
- Coordinate suppliers, technical partners, and outsourced development
Requirements:
- Degree in electrical engineering, electronic engineering, physics, or related discipline
- Significant electronic engineering research and development experience
- Solid analogue and mixed-signal electronics understanding
- Experience building circuits, printed circuit boards, and laboratory systems
- Ability to automate testing, analyse data, and guide prototypes Apply precision measurement, low-noise design, and experimental engineering to advance EIT nanopore sequencing systems in Oxford.
