Overview:

Our major banking client is seeking a

Senior Business Project Manager

to lead initiatives within its

North American Retail Payments portfolio, focused on credit cards .

The successful candidate will be a

PMP-certified business PM

with hands-on

Clarity

experience, strong project financial management and excellent executive communication. Relevant delivery experience includes

new product development, servicing initiatives or regulatory change .

This role requires ownership of business outcomes, stakeholder alignment and delivery readiness, supported by disciplined financial control and project governance. A positive, cooperative approach and the ability to build productive relationships across business and technology teams are essential.

Responsibilities

Lead business initiatives through planning, execution, implementation and closure, maintaining accountability for scope, schedules, dependencies and business outcomes.

Partner with business sponsors to define objectives, deliverables, success measures and delivery priorities.

Own

project budgeting and financial management , including establishing and maintaining budgets, tracking actuals, updating forecasts and analyzing variances.

Explain financial variances, identify cost pressures and recommend corrective actions to maintain alignment with approved funding.

Use

Clarity

to maintain project information and support PMO reporting and governance requirements.

Prepare and present

executive steering committee updates ,



clearly communicating delivery progress, financial performance, risks, options and decisions required.

Coordinate product, operations, finance, risk, compliance and technology stakeholders to resolve dependencies and maintain delivery alignment.

Manage risks, issues and scope changes, escalating concerns with clear recommendations and business impact assessments.

Coordinate business readiness and operational handover, ensuring affected teams understand and are prepared for implementation.

Build trusted working relationships, navigate competing priorities and resolve disagreements constructively.

Must Haves

PMP certification.

Proven experience as a

Senior Business Project Manager , with personal accountability for business delivery and outcomes beyond managing technology implementation.

Direct experience delivering

credit card or retail payments initiatives , including product launches, customer servicing improvements or regulatory implementation.

Experience delivering business projects within a

banking or financial services PMO .

Hands-on experience using Clarity

as a project management tool.

Strong, hands-on

project financial management , including

budgeting, actuals tracking, variance analysis and forecasting .



Must be able to explain financial performance and take action when costs or forecasts deviate from plan.

Experience delivering

at least one

of the following:

new product development, servicing initiatives or regulatory change .

Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to senior business leaders.

Demonstrated experience presenting to

executive steering committees , facilitating decisions and managing senior stakeholder expectations.

A

positive, collaborative working style , with the ability to influence without authority, build trust and handle disagreement professionally.

Strong project governance and delivery discipline across scope, schedules, dependencies, risks, issues and change control.
