About the Position

Boot Trucking is looking for a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Dispatch Support to join our team in Fort Macleod. Working alongside our primary dispatcher, you will assist with coordinating routes, communicating with drivers and customers, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the business.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the trucking industry, communicates effectively, and can adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the primary dispatcher with load planning, scheduling and daily operational coordination.
- Stay in regular contact with drivers, customers and internal staff about loads, schedules, delivery requirements and changing priorities.

· Assist with pre-loading and unloading of trailers as required to support daily operations.

· Enter and maintain accurate order information, including rates, fuel surcharges and customer-specific requirements.

- Prepare and manage cross-border documentation, permits and other transportation paperwork.
- Monitor vehicle tracking systems and GPS location of trucks.
- Support compliance with company safety policies,



site-specific requirements, and applicable transportation regulations by communicating expectations and addressing concerns as they arise.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, drivers and suppliers.
- Prepare and distribute weekly fuel surcharge updates to customers.

Qualifications

Required

- Minimum 3 years of experience in dispatching, trucking operations or a similar role.
- Valid Class 1 driver’s licence, and ability to safely operate a loader when needed.

· Solid understanding of trucking operations, including knowledge of transportation permits and cross-border shipping requirements.

- Experience with ELDs, satellite tracking systems, and transportation management systems, with knowledge of hours-of-service requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PDF documents and general computer applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational, time-management and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to work independently, make sound operational decisions, adapt to changing priorities, and stay calm and solution-oriented under pressure.

Assets

Previous experience with accounting or dispatching software.
